What is GiftMagnet?

GiftMagnet facilitates online group gifting for any life event.

A GiftMagnet group gift contribution page can be setup for a single recipient or multiple recipients, includng staff and teacher for an entire school.

When someone is the recipient of a GiftMagnet group gift, they can redeem its value for the Canadian gift card(s) of their choice through GiftMagnet.

How does GiftMagnet work?

Organizing a GiftMagnet Group Gift

Submit a request to GiftMagnet to setup a custom group gift contribution page.

GiftMagnet will send the organizer of the group gift(s) a link/URL to the custom group gift contribution page.

The organizer of the group gift(s) will send the link/URL to the people that they would like to contribute to the group gift(s).

GiftMagnet will send the organizer periodic updates to show them the names of the contributors to date and also the total value of the group gift to date.

Contributing to GiftMagnet Group Gift(s)

Contributors will go to the URL/link for the custom group gift contribution page.

Contributors will enter the amount that they want to give towards each group gift. If there are multiple group gifts the contributors can enter a different amount for each.

Contributors will have the option to keep their group gift contribution amount confidential or alternatively share it with the recipient(s) if it is important to them that the recipient(s) know how much they contributed.

Contributors will add a message to the group card for each group gift recipient.

GiftMagnet pools all of the contributions and messages together to create an online group card for each group gift recipient.

Receiving GiftMagnet Group Gift(s)

On the reveal date, group gift recipients will receive an email from GiftMagnet with a link to their online, customized card.

Recipients receive 100% of the amount that contributors gifted to them.

New Gift Card Requests

GiftMagnet accepts requests! If a Canadian merchant has an existing eGift Card available on their website then we can add it to our portfolio of options and make it available to GiftMagnet group gift recipients.

GiftMagnet Fees & Payments

There are no fees to setup a group gift.

Contributors can pay GiftMagnet using eTransfer or Credit Card.

Recipients of a GiftMagnet group gift will receive 100% of the amount that contributors gifted to them.

To make the 100% commitment, contributors using credit cards will pay 2.9% + $0.30 to cover the fees that GiftMagnet is charged by its credit card processor, Stripe.com.

There are no fees charged by GiftMagnet for contributors paying with eTransfer, however, a contributor may be changed fees by their bank.

There are no additional service fees charged by GiftMagnet.
